Pancake House In the Community Hall
Cooking Pancakes with Nora

Hungry, tired, need somewhere to sit, rest and get away from the crowded streets? We can help you! Visit the Pancake House in the Elmvale Community Hall on Main Street where you can get a taste of delicious, freshly cooked pancakes and sausages smothered in our sumptuous locally produced, real maple syrup. Have hot or cold drinks, sit back, relax and visit in a friendly atmosphere. It is almost like old home day as we renew old friendships and make new ones with those who traveled many miles to enjoy the many vendors and entertainment lining our main street and arena.

The Pancake House is the place to take a second breath before venturing out again. In the seven or so hours we are open, our over 100 volunteers make at least 6000 pancakes, cook as many sausages, perk many cups of coffee and smile at over 1800 wonderful guests. As you chow down on your pancakes & syrup, enjoy the musical tones of
Al Beardsall and North of 50 . |

Elmvale High School Variety Night

It is with great pleasure that Elmvale District High School hosts the Elmvale Maple Syrup Variety Night and Ambassador Competition. Each year's festivities are held in the High School Gym.
This wonderful evening provides a venue for our home grown groups and school's ensembles to showcase their talent. If you wish to perform during the evening, please contact EDHS. at 322-2201.
The Ambassador Contest

A great deal of excitement is generated during the evening by the Ambassador Competition. Prior to this evening, local High School students compete for a $500.00 prize by writing an essay, giving a speech and being interviewed by judges.
During the Variety Night, these same students are asked to spontaneously respond to a question. Students are marked during all of these events and an ambassador is selected by the end of the evening.
The Elmvale Maple Syrup Variety Night and Ambassador Competition has become
another of the many reasons why Elmvale is such a vibrant place to live. Come out and support your community.

The Legion
Since the Royal Canadian Legion was started in 1926, it has by way of its Poppy Campaign raised millions of dollars for its principal purpose, the care and welfare of Veterans. In 1934 the Elmvale Branch was granted a charter to assist in this important work.
Many of our members compete in Legion sponsored contests, and teams from our Branch have played cards for Provincial championships, and our Senior Curling team went to New Brunswick to compete in the Dominion finals as Ontario’s representative, 2004.
During the Maple Syrup Festival we invite Members and visitors into our Branch to be a part of what is always a fun day on our calendar.
